We had a Saturday evening before Easter emergency when our water heater began leaking. We got the water turned off and contacted Atomic Plumbing. Their friendly appointment person told us they would have someone here the next morning, Easter! Jim came at 11 am and told us it would be best to replace it. We told him to go ahead. They went out and got a high quality one as we requested and installed it in a few hours. Very professional and kept us informed along the way. We appreciate Atomic Plumbing.

James and Paul did an AWESOME job from start to finish with our toilet replacement and installation!! We unfortunately had a bad experience with our general contractor and his plumber and needed immediate assistance. I called Atomic and they immediately got me connected with a scheduler, then had James and Paul out to our house extremely fast! James and Paul were friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and efficient. They advised us based on their expertise and helped us pick out a new toilet and install it correctly. We are so grateful for their work and their professionalism. Would highly recommend them and hire them again!

You might not hear a lot of advice about letting your faucets drip, but when it comes to wintertime, plumbers advise you avoid frozen pipes this way. If you’ve had frozen pipes in the past, you’ll likely have them again, unless you’ve taken preventive measures, so if temps drop to frigid levels, open a faucet slightly and let a steady drip occur to prevent frozen pipes. Check out these 13 tips to prepare your plumbing for winter.
According to standards set by the federal government, a low-flow showerhead uses no more than 2.5 gallons of water per minute at a water pressure of 80 pounds per square inch. That’s less than half the rate of water used by some older traditional showerhead models. Low-flow showerheads come in two main types, aerating, which creates a mist, or laminar-flow that sends water out in a steady stream.
Ryan, came out on time on Friday evening, determined the problem, gave me the pricing and discussed everything with me. He did an outstanding job, on Saturday when he returned and installed the water heater. He cleaned up after himself and left the job site even cleaner than when he started. Would definitely request him again and will recommend Atomic Plumbing to my friends.
Top notch service -- rapid response too!Had a leaky pipe to a washing machine. Called Atomic Plumbing at 8 AM -- they arrived at my house on time and less than 2 hours after my initial call to them. James & Paul were my technicians. Professional, polite, efficient and skilled, they rapidly replaced dated water valves and -- I must say, they did a great job. The repairs not only are functional, but they look great, too!I especially was impressed with the method of pricing. They assess your issue, then provide a flat-fee repair price before any work is done. Their prices are reasonable with no surprises.Highly recommend this company if you want it done right the first time by professionals.
Sump pumps are used to re-route water away from the lowest point of your home's foundation and protect your basement and easily damaged areas from flooding. In most cases, your sump pump is hardwired to your electrical system or possibly plugged into a wall outlet. Because these power sources can often fail in a storm when water damage occurs, sump pumps are typically equipped with battery backup power.
So thankful I made the call. The front office associate was very pleasant and shared the practice of what to expect on my service day. Technician Randy arrived within my service window, immediately introduced himself and presented me with his business card. I was also introduced to his assistant Tim who was also very polite. They also had shoe covers they placed on before entering my rooms (how thoughtful). The service was reviewed and cost to complete the job, authorization given and Randy started the task. I am pleased with the job, great TEAM. Thank you!
Are you 100% satisfied with the quality of the water in your home? It doesn’t matter if you use a private well or if you get your water from the municipal supply. There is no guarantee that your water is going to be of the high quality that you both deserve and demand. That is where our water treatment system professionals come in. When you hire us, we can test your water to determine precisely what’s gone wrong. We can then install the exact type of water treatment system that you need to get the most out of your water supply.
Most typical single family home systems won't require supply piping larger than 3⁄4 inch (19 mm) due to expense as well as steel piping's tendency to become obstructed from internal rusting and mineral deposits forming on the inside of the pipe over time once the internal galvanizing zinc coating has degraded. In potable water distribution service, galvanized steel pipe has a service life of about 30 to 50 years, although it is not uncommon for it to be less in geographic areas with corrosive water contaminants.

Each Government at the state level has their own Authority and regulations in place for licensing plumbers. They are also responsible for the interpretation, administration and enforcement of the regulations outlined in the NCC.[38] These Authorities are usually established for the sole purpose of regulating plumbing activities in their respective states/territories. However, several state level regulation acts are quite outdated, with some still operating on local policies introduced more than a decade ago. This has led to an increase in plumbing regulatory issues not covered under current policy, and as such, many policies are currently being updated to cover these more modern issues. The updates include changed to the minimum experience and training requirements for licensing, additional work standards for new and more specific kinds of plumbing, as well as adopting the Plumbing Code of Australia into state regulations in an effort to standardise plumbing regulations across the country.[39]

Then again, if you don’t have the time, tools, or inclination to do your own plumbing repairs, you can hire a pro. A plumber can handle nearly any problem that involves pipes, from replacing a garbage disposal to unclogging a bathtub drain, but, if your problem is a stopped-up drain, you’re usually better off calling a drain-clearing service because these are generally less expensive.

Some allege that putting a brick in the toilet tank can save water, but doing that can keep your toilet from flushing correctly. Another plumbing tip, avoid liquid drain cleaners. Liquid drain cleaners are also bad news—they eat away at the pipes. Try a plunger or, better yet, a $30 auger. Don’t have either? Here’s how to unclog a toilet without a plunger.
Clear the trap: If the above methods do not work, the next step would be to remove the P-trap under the sink. Place a bucket underneath the area to catch water then unscrew the two threaded caps that hold the curved section of the pipe in place. Nowadays, most kitchen drains are made of white PVC pipe with connections that can be unscrewed by hand.
While in the past, mains drainage and indoor plumbing were a sign of modernity, today people want “designer” bathrooms, luxury fixtures, power showers, fitted kitchens, and the latest technology. There has been a “restroom revolution” in Asia in particular, with companies such as Toto producing complete prefabricated bathroom units for the Japanese housing market, all the components being made together. Colored polyester resins, modern plastics, and marble and granite composites feature strongly in these modern bathroom modules (Greed 2003). Likewise, modern automatic public toilets are fully integrated, prefabricated systems that often use stainless steel and pathogen-resistant polymer materials. However, user-end toilet innovation must be matched by provider-end infrastructural sewerage system provision. The functionality of domestic toilets is dependent on there being a working sewerage system to take away output. Alternatively, the output from a luxury bathroom, as is the case in some affluent areas in developing countries, might end up in a cesspool under the house for collection by traditional night-soil operatives. Alternatively, as in some parts of the Americas and Australasia, even upmarket private houses are not served by a municipal sewerage and drainage system, and depend upon their own cesspits, generators, and water tanks.

In the early evening of June 17, 1971, Henry Kissinger held forth in the Oval Office, telling his President, and John Ehrlichman and Bob Haldeman, all about Daniel Ellsberg. Kissinger's comments were recorded, of course, on the hidden White House taping system, and four years later, a portion of that tape was listened to by the Watergate Special Prosecution Force, which was then investigating the internal White House police unit known as the Plumbers.
Sinks can also be mounted from above or below the counter, or vanity, and homeowners have the option to put in a contemporary vessel sink, which sits on top of the counter. Costs range from less than $100 for a basic, porcelain drop-in or pedestal sink, to several hundred dollars or more for a cast iron vessel sink. Install tends to run between $150 to $200 though it can cost more depending on who you hire and the complexity of the job.
Cleaning your toilet is likely a top priority when it comes to house maintenance, but you’re doing more harm than good if you use chlorine tablets. “Intelligent Service replaced our two sump pumps, added digital float switches, and installed a digital wall unit to track the water levels and pump options. They also checked our existing battery backup for battery outputs. They improved the piping and fixed the check valves. They cleaned the sump pit and the work area. They did a terrific job. Will definitely use them again and will recommend them as well. Pleasure to work with, very responsive, knowledgeable staff, and did a good job explaining the work order prior to writing up the estimate.”

I used Go Green Express Home Services for a minor plastic pipe repair under my kitchen sink...The worker did a great job fixing this minor pipe plastic pipe repair( my original pipe was too short and he needed to extended the pipe and then reconnect). It took him less than 10 minutes to fix. I was first quoted $125 +tax but when the worker went to his truck and spoke to whoever he spoke to at the office, the price rose to $155.10 +tax for a total of $167.10...I thought that was a little too high. Will I use this company again, I Don't Know. It would be helpful if they would have a set price list for jobs (minor repairs, Major repairs etc...), then you as the consumer can see beforehand what the cost maybe and work from there with the company. Minor repairs, Major repairs this company should at least have a set-price list. ..The worker was great and efficient and did a good job on the repair but their prices are a bit costly. And yes, I did write this in their review.

Hello I had a plumber do an estimate for me to replace our copper pipes with plastic as we have no existing walls up in our basement yet...pretty basic job... so we figured we could upgrade as we do live in Northern Ontario and it does tend to get quite cold here in the winters.  We dont have any existing problems with our plumbing right now just figured it would be good time to do the job and perhaps change the pipes to 3 quarter inch for faster flow.  Well I never thought in all my life I would get an estimate back that would state $350.00 an hour in labor...yes that is correct $350.00 an hour...estimated 10 hours for the job to be completed.  So he quoted me $3500.00 for labor alone.. not supplies?  Well needless to say I will be happy with my half inch copper pipes and will happily wait for my bathtub to fill up at a slower pace.  Just wanted to know what your thoughts are on this $350.00 an hour quote?  Thank you and enjoy your day.

We are very satisfied with Atomic Plumbing and with Brian H. The office was helpful and up front with how the service call would be handled. I was informed of the payment forms that would be acceptable. I was able to schedule the appointment to fix a leaky toilet for the day and time suited to my convenience. I was called when they were on the way and after explaining what he felt was wrong and what he would do to repair it and the overall cost if he found nothing else, he got straight to work and was finished within an hour. He put vinyl covers over his shoes upon entering the house and was very respectful. What a refreshing experience and you can be confident they won't rip you off! Thank you Atomic Plumbing and Brian H!
Water is a necessary part of living in our homes so before the project begins, ask when the main water valve will be turned off and how that might affect the rest of the home. A good plumber will be aware that your family may need access to the room they're working in – request that your plumber stick to a schedule so that expectations are clear. Find out if your plumber needs access to the driveway or any other part of your home.
Our Water Heater failed and flooded our attic on the weekend. They answered the phone and had someone out the same day. By the next day, we had a new water heater installed and hot water, all over the weekend. They were quick and professional. Justin D answered all my questions and took the time to explain. When speaking to Justin it was clear that he cared and was well trained in customer experience. Thank you all for making a stressful situation a little easier to deal with. We appreciate your services.

“We had a toilet emergency one morning. After unsuccessful plunging efforts, we called Intelligent Service – and within 20 minutes, they were at our house. They found that the sewer line from our house to the street had snapped. Within 2 hours they had a permit and a backhoe in our front yard, and started work. By 5:00pm, we had water! They were extremely sympathetic to our situation. They were careful not to track snow and mud into the house. They cleaned up the area both inside and outside. Have already recommended the company to the many neighbors.”

Flexible plastic tubing can be used to circulate hot water below your home’s flooring. This is known as hydronic heating. The water/liquid is stored in a boiler and pushed into a plumbing manifold so that it can be properly circulated throughout your home floors as designed. While this is a very beneficial way to radiate heat through your floors during colder seasons, hydronic heating can develop some serious problems that require plumbing repair.

Robert is knowledgeable, respectful and arrived within the time parameters he told me he would. He clearly communicated our problem to us and is working diligently to rectify it. I have to add, cleanliness in our household is of the utmost importance and Robert is meticulous with his work and pretty much left no trace of his presence when he was done. That part of the service in and of itself is invaluable.

"Michael completed an emergency repair for us on a Sunday night-- I wasn't having any luck finding plumbers that could handle an emergency repair. We had a constant stream of water coming out of our main water valve shut off in the house. We couldn't find the outside turn off valve- so we were in trouble. He came out right away, showed us how to turn off the main line into the house (we could find the box, but not the valve to turn off) and then repaired the inside valve. Costs were very reasonable for a Sunday night emergency call. We'll be installing a tankless water heater soon and he will get our business! Highly recommend!!"
